Around 20 members of Second Chancers ‘chilled out’ recently, when they took part in a session of Tai Chi, under the calming influence of celebrated instructor Robin Sheldrake.

They quickly fell under his spell as Robin taught them techniques in this ancient Chinese art, which combines subtle blends of meditation and easy movements to calm and relax the mind and body.

The event, held at the Royal Surrey County Hospital’s social club on Thursday, March 16, was followed by tea and cakes and it presented a perfect opportunity for head and neck cancer patients – and their families - to get together, swap experiences and exchange tips on how to manage after-effects of treatment.
