Second Chancers Garden Party 2018

The smooth and sultry sounds of jazz band 42nd Street drifted across the lawns of Old Plough Farm,
Ewhurst Green, when Second Chancers enjoyed an afternoon Garden Party in perfect summer weather.

More than 40 members, family and friends tucked into cream teas, cakes and sandwiches provided by committee members on June 23rd, as the sun shone and the band played on.

Organised by Second Chancers’ treasurer Jan Humphries and her husband Michael, and held in the grounds
of their beautiful home.

Members took full advantage to meet up with friends and fellow patients and catch
up with news (and gossip)!

Although the afternoon was free, donations on the day raised £118 to help towards holding future social events. Second Chancers’ president Patrick Chapman, said afterwards :-

“ I would like to thank Jan and Michael for organising and hosting what was a very successful gathering, and the committee for providing the sandwiches and cakes.

Everyone who came was able to enjoy a relaxing afternoon
chatting to old friends and new and to listen to the great sounds of jazz.”
